SEO local business maps above organic search results

I woke up and checked my listings like any good seo, and before I have finished my coffee the ground rules have changed.  Right at the top, above my tried and tested listing for “guitar lessons Melbourne,” there is a new listing.  ABOVE MINE!!!!

How can anyone compete with that? 

It doesn’t matter how well you have done in organic search results, the google local map search will always be above you – and  that’s got hairs on it!

Seo is always changing and I know I have to get with the program.  After the initial shock set in I went into google local and added this little black seo duck to the local map index, and I recommend you do the same!

There was no fanfare for this rollout, no warning, just here it is!

The question now remains of how businesses compete for high listings in the local search index. 

Coffees cold, brains scrambled, and we move more and more to a googalized market place; I’m going to walk the dog!
